It's too big
  1. 1. Check the limit shown on New yap. Your selected clips stay in the list. Remove one clip at a time, or choose a smaller copy.
  2. 2. Check the size of the file you selected. Keep the original recording on your phone.
  3. 3. Switching to a computer does not change the file-size limit. If the displayed limit is below your plan allowance, contact support.
It's stuck
  1. 1. If the bar has not moved for a minute, check your connection and the message on screen. Keep the page open until it says “Upload confirmed by server.” Then you can leave.
  2. 2. If the video lives in iCloud (Optimise iPhone Storage), your iPhone downloads it first. This can take a minute and looks stuck.
  3. 3. Keep this tab open and follow the recovery message. After a reload, Yapper tries to restore your saved upload. If your browser no longer has an unfinished original, reselect that same clip when asked. Completed uploads stay saved.
It's taking forever
  1. 1. Watch the upload bar. The time left is an estimate and can change.
  2. 2. Keep the page open until it says “Upload confirmed by server.” A full progress bar alone is not enough. Then you can leave and return through My Yaps. If an error appears, follow the instruction on screen.
  3. 3. If Finish on my computer is offered, it saves your choices and sends a sign-in link. On your computer, select the original clips again; the email does not transfer the videos.
I want to use my computer
  1. 1. iPhone to Mac: in Photos tap Share, then AirDrop, then your Mac. It lands in Downloads at full quality. Both need wifi and Bluetooth on, and the Mac's AirDrop set to Contacts or Everyone.
  2. 2. iPhone with iCloud Photos on a Mac: in the Photos app choose File, Export, Export Unmodified Original. A plain drag out of Photos can export a converted copy.
  3. 3. iPhone to Windows: a USB cable and the Windows Photos app, or iCloud.com Photos, Download, Unmodified Original. On the iPhone set Settings, Photos, Transfer to Mac or PC to Keep Originals.
  4. 4. Android: a USB cable in file transfer mode, or a Google Photos download. Storage saver backups are already compressed.
  5. 5. Use a transfer method that preserves the original file. Messaging and social apps may compress videos; avoid sending a compressed copy to yourself.
The colors look off
  1. 1. Yapper processes supported HDR footage for export. Compare the downloaded video with your original, especially skin tones and bright areas. If it looks washed out or too orange, contact support with the job link.
  2. 2. Log footage needs an appropriate color conversion. For the simplest workflow, use your camera's standard video mode. If you upload Log footage and the result looks flat, contact support rather than adding repeated filters.
There's no sound
  1. 1. Captions need your voice. Check the clip plays with sound in Photos, then pick it again.
  2. 2. If the original has sound but the upload does not, try saving the original to Files and selecting it with Browse Files. If the problem remains, contact support with the job link.
My iPhone made it blurry
  1. 1. Some apps make a smaller, blurrier copy of your video. Choose the original from your phone if you still have it.
  2. 2. In Photos, open the original video, tap Share, then Save to Files. On the upload screen tap Browse Files and pick it there. Check the selected file size; this cannot restore detail already lost in a compressed copy.

Best settings

Film at 1080p or 4K, ideally 30 fps, with steady framing, light on your face and the microphone close. Upload the original over a stable connection and check the finished picture and sound before posting.
