Filming tips
Pick the kind of video you want to make. Follow the steps, then keep your original clips. Some editing tools are still being tested, so watch your finished video before posting.
Use the camera you have
Your phone is enough. Use its normal Video mode and check that you have room to save the clip.
Check the light
Face a window or a soft lamp. Check your face and product on the screen; keep lighting consistent between comparison takes.
Prop the phone
Keep the whole action in frame. Eye level helps talking takes; overhead or wider framing can make a demonstration easier to follow.
Film upright
Vertical fills the whole screen on Reels and TikTok. Landscape gets framed vertically, so leave room.
Upload it raw
Keep the original take, including pauses and retakes. Review the edit before saving to check its pacing and which take it uses.
Keep your original
Keep the video on your phone until you have saved your yap.
Filming a TikTok Shop format
Choose a format below for camera positions and framing references. Keep the subject in focus and leave space for the full action.
